Each Lent, Catholic families across the country unite to put their faith into action through prayer, fasting and almsgiving. Through CRS Rice Bowl, families learn about how our sisters and brothers across the globe overcome hardships like hunger and malnutrition, and how through Lenten alms, we have the power to make the world a better place for all. This year, CRS Rice Bowl invites you to journey to Madagascar, El Salvador and Timor-Leste to learn about the root causes of hunger and how communities—with the support of CRS and faith communities like yours—are making sure they have the right nutritious food to thrive. With prayer, fasting and almsgiving, we can continue Jesus’ mission to care for all in need. Visit www.crsricebowl.org for resources for families and parishes.
Lent is a time of repentance and of uniting ourselves to Christ during his 40 days in the desert. During this sacred season, CRS Rice Bowl—Catholic Relief Services’ Lenten faith-in-action program—invites us to reflect on how caring for our neighbor is caring for Christ. For I was hungry and you gave me food, thirsty and you gave me drink (Matthew 25:35). Visit www.crsricebowl.org for resources for families and parishes.

The Diocese of Kalamazoo is blessed with many senior priests. Although retired they continue to serve through prayer, assisting in parishes with Masses and confessions, visiting nursing homes and countless other ways. This special collection will support our diocesan priests’ retirement fund.
Diocesan priests live independently during their retirement, and they use their pension for basic needs, such as food, housing and transportation. Please give generously to this special collection to ensure adequate retirement and health coverage will be available for our priests in retirement.
The weekend of March 6th and 7th, all parishes and missions in the Diocese of Kalamazoo will hold a special collection to support our diocesan priests’ retirement fund. This collection directly benefits priests of the Diocese of Kalamazoo and is separate from the annual December collection for the Retirement Fund for Religious, which supports retired clergy and sisters of religious orders across America.
