Catholic Guidelines for End of Life Decisions Offered by MCC -- Discussing end-of-life decisions can be difficult. Whether you are the patient, a family member, or chosen Patient Advocate, there are a number of things to consider when deciding upon and executing, or accepting, an advance health care directive. To aid individuals and families making these decisions, Michigan Catholic Conference offers a variety of resources that are consistent with Catholic Social Teaching. On a new webpage launched in December, MCC provides its Guidelines for End of Life Decisions booklet and accompanying Designation of Patient Advocate forms. Learn more at http://bit.ly/34nG4z8.
The Trauma Recovery Program is a faith-based program for adult Catholic survivors of childhood abuse and neglect. The program focuses on the present, rather than the past, and teaches skills for more effective functioning.
Trauma Recovery Associates is offering small groups for ten weeks at 2.5 hours/week and is led by trained mental health professionals. There is no charge to participate in this group. Each participant meets with a facilitator for an individual assessment session and an individual follow-up session. To register or ask questions, contact Trauma Recovery Associates at 269.459.2121 or email Karen at [email protected]. To find out more about TRA visit our website at www.traumarecoveryassociates.com. Any Catholic in the Diocese of Kalamazoo that is an adult survivor of childhood abuse or neglect can apply to participate in the Trauma Recovery Program.
Anyone can also access the online program called RENEW/RENOVARSE for free at the same website. It introduces information and skills for dealing with the pandemic.
